Michael Nolan - Director, Wesley Centre for Life Enrichment

Michael was appointed Interim Director in July 2009, and this appointment has now been ratified as Director until December 2011. Michael brings to this position and to the Board of Wesley Centre for Life Enrichment the wealth of 33 years of ministry as a former Catholic priest, with strong pastoral care, education, and social justice experience. He works part time (20 hours per week) as leader of our counselling service and Director of programs. Michael is involved with our support groups and currently developing a network of connections with others agencies across Geelong.

With almost a lifetime of local living and involvement he is a loyal Cats supporter; his recreation time allows him to pursue his love of live theatre and the movies; he finds solace in meditation and loves a good book or crossword. His constant companion is “Charlie”, his toy poodle who loves to play and is a source of unconditional love and delight.

Chris Yeaman

Chris Yeaman has been a member of the Board since it was formed in 1991. He was part of the steering committee that brought into existence the WCLE as amalgamation of the Life Enrichment Centre formally with Tuckers (Counseling Service) and the Wesley Centre.


He brings to the board experience as a General Practitioner, management roles and experience in Uniting Church organizations. He is an active member of the Uniting Church in Geelong. He has an interest in general health with a special focus on community mental health and palliative care.

Sue Cayzer

Sue worked in the Geelong media for nine years as the Marketing Manager and Public Relations and Promotions Manager of the Geelong Advertiser Group and Promotions Manager for FM 95.5 K-Rock and 93.9 Bay FM. Sue also held the position of Marketing Manager of the Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre.

Prior to coming to Geelong, Sue worked in media promotions at Adelaide Radio stations and in special events with a public relations and entertainment consultant.

Sue has served on the Board of the Wesley Centre for Life Enrichment for 8 years.

Susan Murrant

Sue Murrant is a psychologist who has worked in the community and health sectors for 15 years. Sue is currently working as Allied Health Manager/Day Program Coordinator at The Geelong Clinic and has previously worked at Glastonbury Child and Family Services and the Department of Human Services. Sue has a wide variety of counselling, casework, supervisory and management experience across these areas.

Sue has a strong commitment to social justice and the accessibility of social, emotional and mental health support services for all.

Ross Pearce

Ross has just joined the Board as a representative of the Wesley Church Council. He brings a long experience in the councils of the Uniting Church both locally and regionally; having just completed a term as chairperson of the Presbytery of Port Phillip West. As a Lay Preacher, Ross is interested in building up the education programs offered by the Wesley Centre.

Outside of the church, Ross is active in local amateur theatre in both acting and directing, having performed with six local theatre companies. Ross is a single father with two adult children.

Gael Perry

Gael grew up in Geelong and attended Sacred Heart College. She was Aged Care Services Manager for 17 years with the Colac Shire and City of Colac Otway. She was on the Board of Colac Area Health for numerous years and Chair of the Colac Hospital Board when the new Hospital building was commenced.

Gael was on the Kalkee Board until it was centralized and is currently on the local Board of the Multi Aged Care Services and is Quality Care Chair, she is also on the Board of Do Care. She is currently President of the Sacred Heart Old Collegian's Association and is a Dame in the Order of St John of Jerusalem. 

Gael has served on the Board of the Wesley Centre for Life Enrichment for three years

Ruth Walter

Ruth is a qualified teacher who taught for many years, in the Geelong region, in primary classrooms and as a teacher/librarian. She has been involved in various activities catering for school children, such as Guiding and sport groups.

Ruth enjoys reading, crosswords, travelling and supporting the “Cats”.

Ruth joined the Board of the Wesley Centre for Life Enrichment in 2007.
